DESCRIPTION OF DELIVERY MODES
25-minute Paper: This can be either research-oriented, discussing the theoretical perspectives, methodological paradigms and findings of a study or practice-oriented, discussing a pedagogical technique. The presenter would spend about 20 minutes for the main content of the presentation and 5 minutes for Question and Answer (Q&A) section. Here are some useful presentation guidelines:
60-minute Workshop: The presenter demonstrates a teaching initiative or innovation for about 15 minutes before delivering a hands-on activity (activities) that engage all participants to join, share, discuss and produce specific outputs. The activities might be a discussion about heated topics, a simulation, designing a lesson plan, designing materials and tasks, drafting an action plan and so on. A workshop must include plenty of active audience participation throughout.
25-minute Poster: A poster presentation is a visually explanatory exhibit that allows for short, informal discussions between the presenter(s) and the participants as they circulate within the poster-session rooms. Poster sessions serve as an important and interactive forum for sharing professional ideas and for receiving feedback. The presenters are expected to be very flexible with the presentation format and their participants within their allowance of 25 minutes per session. Below are some basic guidelines to help you prepare your poster for the VietTESOL Conference:
15-minute Electronic Mini-workshop: After a 3-minute introduction, the presenter who is stationed next to a computer will guide participants in “hands-on” practice. They provide experience in adaptation of ONE software and/or hardware for CALL purposes and create products for teaching and learning in a meaningful context.
25-minute Technology Demonstration: The presenter who will be stationed next to a computer demonstrates their technology applications in a 25-minute session in a presentation format similar to a poster session. Participants attend sessions of their choosing and drop in and out of demonstrations. Demonstrations should be informal and do not necessarily employ a structured presentation form.

The presenter would spend about 20 minutes for the main content of the presentation and 5 minutes for Question and Answer (Q&A) section. Here are some useful presentation guidelines:
- For PowerPoint presentations: Use a minimum of 24pt font for PowerPoint.
- Be aware that if using Prezi, the motion can affect some members of the audience.
- On your first slide, include your session title, presenter name(s), affiliation and email address.
The presenters are expected to be very flexible with the presentation format and their participants within their allowance of 25 minutes per session. Below are some basic guidelines to help you prepare your poster for the VietTESOL Conference:
- You will bring the poster to the venue and we will help you to stick it to the wall in the poster area. We advise not making them too big or too heavy. The recommended size is A0.
- Try to avoid using too much text. Remember people will have to read the poster while walking round, so consider whether it is easy to read (think about minimum font size 16-18 and an easy to read font). Aim for clean, attractive and readable layout.
- Ideally, try to include visuals and consider how self-explanatory they are.
- Think about the sequence of your poster and how someone will approach reading it and in which order. Sections help break up a poster into manageable chunks.
- Remember that your poster should address a concern that is also of relevance and interest to your audience and reflects the content of your abstract. Please keep this in mind when planning and designing the content of your poster. Consider – what is my main message or concern? Ask someone whether they can establish this from reading your poster. Indeed, it is generally good advice to get feedback from others about your poster.
- Be sure the poster includes your title, name and if you wish to connect with others, contact details!
- You will also be asked to briefly introduce your poster. Think how you can get your main message across in around 60 seconds max! Keep it simple!
